Careers & Volunteers

Greenwich EMS provides four (4) Advanced Life Support ambulances and A Paramedic Flycar 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and are supported by the Greenwich Police Department as First Responders as well as members of the Greenwich Fire Department when needed.

GEMS employs Full Time Paramedics and EMTs, Per Diem Paramedics and EMTs, Volunteers and Explorer Post members to help achieve such coverage. Our Career staff is supplemented by a group of Volunteer members and Explorer Post members between 6 A.M. and midnight any day of the week. The Volunteers and Explorers are a valuable asset to the Career staff and the patients they care for, and participate in many community events during the year. Continued Medical Education, Training and regular Call Reviews are offered to both Career and Volunteer members, and they are honored together at the GEMS Annual Awards Ceremony.
